The winners of the 13th annual CNY BEST Talent Development Awards were announced Nov. 5 at the Central New York chapter of the Association for Talent Development’s awards ceremony.
For 2020, CNY ATD created the CNY BEST Resilience Award to showcase and share the community’s best in dealing with COVID-19 while recognizing excellence in talent development. Nominees include AmeriCU Credit Union, Aspen Dental Management Inc., Battisti Management Affiliates, CenterState CEO, Colgate University, Corning Incorporated, Haylor Freyer & Coon Inc., INFICON Inc., National Grid, OneGroup, Oneida Nation Enterprises LLC, Ramboll, Suburban Propane, Train Develop Optimize, WISE Women’s Business Center and YWCA of Syracuse & Onondaga Co. Inc.
The Resilience Gold winner was National Grid, the Resilience Diamond winner was Corning Inc. and the Resilience Pearl winner was OneGroup.
CNY ATD received a Chapter Excellence Award for excellence in strategic partnership for its Employee Learning Awareness Program.
CNY ATD member recognitions include CNY ATD President Elect Melissa McLean, who received an ATD Scholarship to attend the ATD Leaders Conference; Ken Steiger, of Steiger Training and Development, who was selected to be a judge for the 2019-20 ATD Excellence in Practice Awards; Steven DeHart, certified professional in talent development, who was selected by the ATD Certification Institute to assist in updating the talent development profession’s two certification programs, the associate professional in talent development and CPTD.
Deborah Elwood was recognized for achieving the Associate Professional in Talent Development designation, one of two credentials covering the talent development profession.
Several scholarships were awarded. Erin Cunia was awarded the CNY ATD Ken Steiger Leadership Scholarship.
Pamela Baker Gratton, of the Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter; Maryann Deery, of Liberty Resources; and Stacy Sturdevant, of The Salvation Army Syracuse Area Services; were awarded CNY ATD Train-the-Trainer Scholarships.
Marlene Reynolds, Steuben County Department of Social Services and Schuyler County Department of Social Services, was awarded a CNY ATD Programs Scholarship to attend the CNY ATD A Voyage through Virtual Training Conference.
The keynote speaker for the ceremony was Robert M. Simpson, president and CEO of CenterState CEO.
