BANGOR — The Beal College community is extremely proud to congratulate its very first graduating class in Registered Nursing
In addition to completing their studies during this time of great uncertainty, this cohort took the inspiring step of donating their hard-earned pinning ceremony funds to healthcare workers fighting the COVID-19 pandemic on the front lines. This selfless act is testament to these students’ devotion to the nursing profession.
As a special thank you to all of its outstanding nursing graduates, Beal College is pleased to offer a pair of scholarships. A $6,000 scholarship will be available to its graduates who pass the NCLEX-RN exam and enroll in the Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) program for terms beginning in July and September of 2020.
The college is also extending a $3,000 scholarship to ALL Registered Nurses who pursue the RN-BSN degree.
“The entire Beal staff, faculty and students extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the healthcare personnel who selflessly take care of us, especially during these challenging times” said Beal College President Sheryl DeWalt.
Beal College kicked off the process to begin its nursing program three years ago. The program was designed to respond to the critical shortage of registered nurses in our state, and its growth has gone hand in hand with Beal’s expansion of online course offerings, lab space, and equipment. Like other educational institutions across the country, Beal has shifted its courses online in order to combat the spread of COVID-19. Thanks to the collaboration of its faculty and the dedication of its students, more nursing professionals will soon be ready to enter the work force, just when they are needed most.
Beal College’s mission is to provide educational training that focuses on filling the vacancies in the local workforce, and that mission is as relevant today as when the College began in 1891. Now more than ever, the importance of skilled and qualified healthcare workers is clear.
The Beal community is grateful and humbled by the students of Nursing Cohort 1. They have consistently shown great compassion and dedication to their academics, peers and family as well as the community. We wish them the very best.
