The first of the four instalments, the minimum, is to be paid in May and the rest in June, September and December, respectively, said officials. Prof Ruchi Tewari, Chair Admissions (MICA) said, “Keeping the stressful external conditions in mind, the admission committee at MICA proposed that the fee payment schedule be reconsidered. The senior leadership was prompt in accepting the same. It was decided to spread the fee payment into four installments with the initial amount being reduced to Rs 2 lakh only. At MICA, we walk the talk. Our mission is to develop empathetic leaders and thinkers who are creative and adaptive problem-solvers for a rapidly changing world. Through this gesture we exhibit our commitment to our institute’s mission.”

IIMA officials said the institute already offers flexibility in fee payment apart from need-based scholarships that are sufficiently available for those with financial constraints. Asked about the fee hike for 2020-22 batch, Director Errol D’Souza said they plan to increase the fee this year too. “For PGP and FABM, a 3% hike is envisaged.” For the past few years, IIMA has been increasing fees by around 7% keeping inflation in mind. An increase of 3% for 2020-22 batches is less. It was however not known if IIMA decided to marginally increase fee following COVID-19. As per IIMA website, fees for the two courses for 2019-21 was Rs 22,50,500.
